The menswear designer who made everyone cry, Craig Green, has teamed up with iconic fashion photographer and filmmaker Nick Knight for his first ever ad campaign. Three models and a ballet dancer throw themselves around together in the air, allowing Green’s dramatic fall/winter 15 red and black layered looks–kite-like frames with trailing straps–to come alive. The film is soundtracked by a low drone, the sound of howling wind and a slow cracking like the trunk of a tree breaking in a storm.
“There’s a brilliant tension to Craig’s work,” Knight says, explaining that, “on one hand it’s so simple and pure, rooted in ideas of traditional masculine work wear, but on the other it’s so dynamic, so theatrical – full of energy and movement. That combination is what makes it so special to photograph.” Green says that he has always admired Knight’s work, lauding his “incredible vision and technical skill”, adding that, “He really understood what we wanted to express and the energy of the fall/winter ’15 collection.”
