Favourite AU/NZ song of 2017? My friends made some of my favourite music this year which has inspired me greatly, so it’s tough to choose. But if I have to it’s, Mall Grab’s Catching Feels. The song makes me feel calm but also run wild in the streets! AU/NZ album of the year? Darcy Baylis, Intimacy & Isolation. Every feeling I felt in 2017 was basically captured in every detail on this album. I hope can do the same with my own album. What’s your new year’s resolution? Put the old me and all the bullshit in the trash and look at everything with more of an optimistic view. Be patient, be tender, be kinder and outgoing. This album is really beautiful, it feels super dream-like and surreal. I love the nostalgia it brings from the warm analog synths coupled with the futuristic soundscapes and textures. What are your thoughts on Antipodean music in 2017? Pretty damn strong TBH. Lots of people doing cool shit. What are your thoughts on Antipodean music in 2017? For so long this side of the world has been separated musically from the rest of the world. We’re in a time now that the music coming from here stands up and stands out. There’s a revolution and a surge in acceptance. I feel like we can see that in a rise of artists who’ve come here as immigrants like myself, Mzwètwo, Tkay Maidza, Manu Crook$ and more. I believe this is a step in the right direction.
