Never ones to disappoint with their collaborations, Palace have just teamed up with Canadian outerwear specialists Arc’teryx. A fashion match made in icy heaven. In a year that’s seen us all become — by necessity! — more outdoorsy, this collab is perfectly timed. Bridging the gap between skate culture (Palace) and climbing culture (Arc’teryx), the incoming drop will have us all suited and booted for naturalistic pursuits long after the vaccine has arrived.
Released globally this week (11 December), the collection consists of an array of outdoor essentials, including GORE-TEX hardshell and insulated jackets as well as packs, beanies and t-shirts. The diversity in styles reflects the diversity of environments the capsule collection is able to endure, conceived to take you from mountain to city.
“We love working with brands we love and Arc’teryx are most high: we are highly delighted,” said Palace today in a statement. The London-based brand has many of the same sensibilities as Vancouver-based Arc’teryx, with today’s announcement reflecting the camaraderie between the skater and climber community — both cultures rooted in style, form and the great outdoors.
Ah, it’s enough to make you want to get out of bed and explore your surroundings. Almost.
The collection releases 11 December on palaceskateboards.com and Palace locations in London, New York, Tokyo, and Los Angeles. It will also be available in China on December 19 at Arc’teryx stores in Shanghai, Beijing, and Chengdu as well as Arc’teryx WeChat.
