When Jimmy Choo called us up and asked to host an evening for some of our favourite people to dust off their dancing shoes, it was a no-brainer — as was the choice of location. Where else to host a night of french fries, champagne and dancing than Paris, the city of love? Last night, in the halls of Château Voltaire, we partnered with the iconic British brand to host a night of festivities. We know, we know — but it’s not fashion week! Well, to celebrate the start of Paris Plus, the city’s new art fair by Art Basel, we thought it would only be appropriate to give the city a night to remember as a warm-up for a week of art and culture. We’re both British brands, after all — we know how to have fun.
Girl-of-the-moment Iris Law made quite the entrance in a corset and ankle heeled boots, with a silk scarf worn as a belt. Meanwhile, the champagne flowed and Chloé Thomas (AKA DJ Jeune Pouce) kicked things off on the decks, starting with Fergalicious and ending the night with an unofficial Renaissance listening party. Halston actress Rebbeca Dayan passed a giant silver platter of french fries around a table that included stylist Emilie Kareh, photographer Lea Colombo, and i-D’s Osman Ahmed and Dan Sablon.
Jimmy Choo’s creative director Sandra Choi and Mugler designer Casey Cadwallader (they collaborated together only last year) were the first on the dancefloor after dessert, and joining them was a crowd that included musician Mimi Xu and model Paul Hameline. Dancers Guillaume Diop and Leo Walk couldn’t help but join in, whereas Raya Martigny held court with Michel Gaubert and Fanny Bourdette-Donon and i-D’s Claire Thomson-Jonville.
