As we all know, the world of chess is totally dominated by men. Maybe that’s why Monika “Jac” Jagaciak looks so proud when she outplays two Icelandic rappers from Úlfur Úlfur in their new music video, “Barn.” The video tells the story of two over-confident guys who surprisingly lost the chess game to a smart girl who didn’t need any books or relaxing baths to beat them.

This is the first time Jac has appeared in any music video, which was shot during her recent trip to Iceland. One of our favorite Polish models told us that playing a role in the Icelandic rap group’s music video has been an incredible experience: “I have always been a huge fan of the Icelandic music scene. It’s truly unique and one of a kind. I always thought it is mostly dominated by electronic music, so it was so cool to discover something new during my last trip to Reykjavík. I’ve met so many talented and ambitious people there, I can’t wait for the rest of the world to hear about them.”

Monika did a great job and showed a powerful “checkmate” to the patriarchal society. However she wasn’t fully satisfied with her victory: “I would have been completely satisfied if I really knew how to play chess and actually won the battle,” she says.

It’s easy to see that Jac is into acting and feels at ease in front of the camera. She doesn’t treat it like a challenge, she’s just having fun: “Because of modeling I can adapt to new situations, so maybe if it wasn’t for [modeling], I wouldn’t be so spontaneous about it and I wouldn’t have that much fun,” Monika explains.
