Flava D has established herself as one of London’s garage, grime, and bass music staples. Her versatile production and DJ style has seen her release music with everyone from MTA Records to Local Action and Butterz. Now, the producer returns for her second drop on the funk fueled, bass heavy Formula Records. “Wheels,” released April 8,follows on from last year’s huge cut “In The Dance.” “‘Wheels’ leans more towards a hard UK funky vibe with my signature bass style. It’s very different to anything I’ve made before and Formula is the home for this side of my music,” she explains.
With many sides to her sound, Flava D is shaping up to be one of the most diverse bass forward producers in the game. We look forward to hearing more from her, but for now, press play on i-D’s exclusive premiere of “Wheels.”
Formula Records takes over Fabric’s room 2 with its first showcase on April 8 with Champion, Terror Danjah, Killjoy & Mike Delinquent – plus Oneman b2b Bok Bok headlining. For tickets and info head here.
