There’s no denying Shonky is an absolute bad boy when it comes to the house and tech game. The French producer makes up one third of Apollonia, alongside Dyed Soundorom and Dan Ghenacia, and between their back-to-back sets and outstanding label output, the trio individually pump out powerful tunes that set dance floors off all year round. As we step into what promises to be a big summer, with Dan, Dyed, and Shonky performing at festivals across the world — on top of their returning DC-10 residency — the Apollonia imprint gears up to release its next installment, in the form of Shonky’s Plombière EP.
Shonky told i-D, “‘Cosmopolis’ is probably one of my favorite tracks on the EP. I made it in one day. It was the day after I received my Matrix 1000 from Oberheim and I was so excited about the synth that I went in the studio really early in the day. I found the groove and then I add few elements around it. It’s a simple track but at the end of day that is what I prefer.”
