With warmer weather promised this weekend (*insert sips tea emoji here), there couldn’t be better timing for a brand new garage anthem to hit our sun-starved ears. Having worked together previously, Wolverhampton’s TRC teams up with south London’s P Money on the bubbly bubbly Dun Know, taken from TRC’s forthcoming EP, SHUBBZ.”I’ve always rated P,” TRC tells i-D. “We’ve been working on different music for a few years now, but I’ve always had the idea of doing a garage song with him. When I sent him the beat, within a couple days he hit me back with the idea, saying he’d been working on something on that kind of vibe – I definitely caught him at the right time.”
Says P: “I wanted this track for my upcoming album Live & Direct but he wouldn’t let me have it (laughs). I’ve worked with TRC before and I think I took the last one, so I guess that’s fair. Right now it’s about vibes and this track is exactly that.”
As well as this collab with P Money, TRC also worked with Princess Nyah, Olivia Louise and Kai Ryder on the forthcoming SHUBBZ, out Friday 12 August. “The EP boasts a lot of energy and a different vibe for everyone,” he says. “I wanted to catch the summer party atmosphere and rave element.”
