HRH has become the first royal ever to star on the cover of a gay magazine, linking up with 'Attitude' to take a stand on bullying.

London-based gay magazine Attitude has always been good at a surprise groundbreaking cover — from Tony Blair, the first British Prime Minister to appear in a gay publication, to errm Geri Halliwell, the first woman to leave the Spice Girls. The mag’s latest coup is Prince William, who met with a group of LBGT+ youth — including i-D contributor Paris Lees — at Kensington Palace to talk about bullying and the host of issues affecting the community, including depression, suicide, and homelessness.

Proud to have discussed gender based bullying with The Duke of Cambridge. Thank you @AttitudeMag & @KensingtonRoyal pic.twitter.com/LVdDTrzyC9

William, who yesterday signed a book of condolences for the LGBT men and women who lost their lives in Orlando, said “The young gay, lesbian and transgender individuals I met through Attitude are truly brave to speak out and to give hope to people who are going through terrible bullying right now. Their sense of strength and optimism should give us all encouragement to stand up to bullying wherever we see it. What I would say to any young person reading this who’s being bullied for their sexuality: don’t put up with it. You should be proud of the person you are and have nothing to be ashamed of.”
