Radiohead are the first headliner to be announced for Glastonbury 2017. The band will headline the Pyramid stage on the Friday night. Eagle-eyed fans caught the hint earlier today when they spotted the band’s classic grinning bear logo being painted onto the Glastonbury grass on the Worthy Farm livestream. Radiohead confirmed the link, posting a picture of the Somerset grass art on their Instagram, with the caption “Friday 23 June 2017 – Glastonbury Festival”.
It will be the band’s third headline slot on the Pyramid Stage. They previously headlined in 1997 on the Saturday (The Prodigy were on the Friday; Ash on Sunday), and in 2003, also on Saturday night (with R.E.M on Friday, and Moby on Sunday). The 2017 Saturday and Sunday headliners have yet to be announced, but unconfirmed rumours have The Stone Roses, Diana Ross and Ed Sheeran’s names in the mix.
