Rihanna‘s Work just hit its ninth consecutive week a the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart—congrats Ri! It marks the 60th week she’s had a song in the top spot, which is huge news, ’cause it’s means she’s narrowly beat out the Beatles’ record of 59 weeks. Now Rihanna can claim the most weeks spent at number one second only to Mariah Carey. The soon to be first lady of Crown Casinos has that nailed down, with a record of 79 weeks. But without any Mariah material charting in recent years, Riri is well poised to become the G.O.A.T.
Meanwhile, just south of the number one spot: Desiigner’s Panda jumped from number five to number two, close to snatching the spot from Rihanna. If the 18-year-old Brooklyn rapper is successful it would be historic, given he bought the track’s beat for $200 and it was the first song he’s ever released.
