There are many things Rihanna has done that any less unapologetically badass pop star might regret. But in true Bad Gal style, RiRi regrets only the things she hasn’t done. And one of the things she hasn’t done is wear a bedazzled thong with a sheer, bedazzled dress to one of the most-watched red carpet events in the world. Apparently the memory of not doing this still plagues her.
In a new Vogue cover story, Rih reflects on the only thing she would have changed before stepping onto the red carpet in 2014 wearing that Swarovski-encrusted sheer dress by her longtime designer Adam Selman.
“I just liked it better without the lines underneath,” she said of nonchalantly blazing into the #FreeTheNipple debate. “Could you imagine the CFDA dress with a bra? I would slice my throat. I already wanted to, for wearing a thong that wasn’t bedazzled. That’s the only regret I have in my life.” When probed to confirm that wearing a thong that wasn’t bedazzled is truly her greatest regret so far, Rih gets specific. “To the CFDA Awards. Yes.”
The singer and designer probably has a lot on her plate right now, what with reviving both health goth and denim shoes. But there’s room on that plate for a capsule collection of Bad Gal bedazzled thongs, our credit cards will be waiting.
