Taking tartan from the Punks and suede biker jackets from the Rockers, Roundel London’s autumn/winter 15 collection is a mash up of parts taken from Britain’s youth cultures. Delving into the TFL archives, Roundel London picked out bygone advertising slogans and emblazoned them onto jackets, jumpers and hoodies. Becoming a subversive take on humour today, the collection shouts “Avoid All Anxiety”, “Freedom For The Suburbs”, and “Metropolis”. Another nod to the anti-establishment Punk era comes in the form of a collaboration with George Cox, famous for the introduction of the brothel creeper – the shoes that were adopted by the Sex Pistols in the 70s.
