It’s Friday, so let’s slide out of the week on a positive note. Luckily, Sampology has the uplifting vibes on lock with his new mix for i-D. He told us that he found himself wanting to put together a dance mix, without specifically including all ‘dance’ tracks. Instead, he turned to “upbeat soul, tropical, orchestral type tracks that resonate with me.”
In line with this unorthodox approach, he took the intro sample from a Key & Peele sketch. He explained: “When I hear a new song for the first time that’s really inspiring and unique it makes me creatively feel like internally screaming ‘I Believe I Can Fly!’ from that sketch, I really dig that feeling.” Can’t argue with that.
