She was the Marcia fucking Brady of the Upper East Side, a rich bitch with a coke problem and a chronic need to control, and he was a legend, the most popular guy in school with the cruellest if not incestuous intentions. But then he died and she was exposed and, well, that was that. Or so we thought….
Yup, that’s right, Cruel Intentions is getting a modern makeover, in the form of a musical parody. Which, actually, doesn’t sound as bad as you think, especially when the original 90s flick had one of the greatest soundtracks of all time. Plus Sarah Michelle Gellar will reprise her role as Kathryn Mertueil as she fights to for control over Valmont International and the soul of Bash Casey, Sebastian Valmont and Annette Hargoves’s son, played by American Crime star Taylor John.
Taking to Instagram with a picture vintage pic of herself with Cruel Intention’s original director and producer, juxtaposed with an up to date line up, SMG announced her return joyfully, “That’s right ‘everybody loves me, and I intend to keep it that way’ #kathrynmerteuil is back!!! I am happy to say that I will be joining them (and @nbctv ) on the new #Crueltv.” Thank f**k for that.
