Turns out Polly Jean is pretty handy with a red pen.

Jehnny Beth, the intense, ecstatic lead singer of French-British post punk band Savages has been announced as the latest addition to the Beats 1 radio schedule, joining fellow i-D faves StormzyJulie Adenuga and Drake on Apple’s international airwaves.

Speaking to Zane Lowe about her new show, Jehnny Beth explained how her friendship with legendary British musician PJ Harvey relates to the name of the show, Start Making Sense: “Polly came to see us as Savages a few years ago now. I was petrified when I saw her walk through the crowd, but she came to say ‘Hello’ and we became friends. Recently, she’s been kind enough to accept to look at my writing, so we sat down together in various cafes and I sat in silence next to her while she took out a red pen and crossed out all my bad lines! So, from artist to artist we pass our knowledge, our own experiences, and hopefully, things start to make a bit more sense.”

“It’s always been a dream of [mine] to have a radio show, so it’s even more pleasurable than I thought it would be; I’m enjoying it so much,” the musician explains in her sweet-sounding French lilt, before telling listeners that her overwhelming feeling while making an eclectic selection of records for the show was… horny. With a transatlantic showtime of 3am GMT, that just might be the perfect vibe.

Jehnny Beth’s Stop Making Sense show is on Beats 1, Tuesdays at 10pm EST, 3am GMT.
