Back with a brand new studio in the heart of Dalston, Sharmadean Reid wants to welcome you into her world of Swarovski crystals, shimmer and shellac, otherwise known as WAHWORLD. A multi-purpose space for all those interested in the most cutting edge of nail art, the studio acts as a working space for the WAH team during the week, while on the weekend it will open up for all those wanting to know Sharmadean’s secrets, with a programme of WAH Masterclasses on everything from where she gets her nailspo to how to draw a straight line. Becoming a part of the WAH Crew, not only will students receive a certificate of completion, they will also be able to enjoy member benefits such as discounts on WAH LONDON products and invitations to lots of snazzy events. Sound good?

What’s the story behind WAHWORLD?I needed a space to do my own thing. I missed being a shopkeeper and part of a community. Now we have a shopfront, we can do anything we want. So right now you can buy all of our products in store or online, you can book a nail appointment or you can do a masterclass.

    What do these masterclasses entail?
The classes are intended to give girls all the knowledge and tips to do all of our WAH style nails at home or on their friends and customers. It’s a full day starting right from how to find nail inspiration to painting the perfect straight line. It’s a really incredible insight into how we work and what makes us unique.

What do you hope to achieve with it?
I really want to create a loyal army of talented nail artists who feel like they have a piece of WAH knowledge with them, always.

WAH has gone from strength to strength, did you ever think that one day you’d be passing on your secrets to future generations?
No way, this whole thing started on just a flippant comment, and now we are a real brand with a product line. It’s kind of weird for me sometimes.

    Who or what inspires you?
I’m really inspired by India Hicks, I just think she’s awesome, mixing business, pleasure and family. In terms of creativity I’m mainly inspired by art – I just discovered Eddie Peake. Bit obsessed.

What does it take to become a WAH Girl?
    Self-respect and a sassy attitude.

What advice would you give to young girls wishing to follow in your footsteps?
Don’t overthink it, do what you feel.

What’s your all time favourite nail look?
A plain colour with Swarovski crystals around the cuticle. Faaaaancy!

What’s been your most memorable moment so far?
Probably receiving my MBE. Bit strange. Also spending a week in Bangkok and Koh Samui. Easily the best trip we have done!

    What’s next?
I’m raising money for the first time to expand with a brand new concept salon and mobile app, as well as distributing our WAH London products globally!

What are your hopes and dreams for the future?
    To be chillin.

    Describe WAH in 3 words
    Downtown, girls, worldwide.
