Pioneering fashion film creators SHOWStudio are launching their first Fashion Film Award. Nick Knight and his site have teamed up with QIC Global Real Estate to create a competition that will see the winning filmmaker taking home a cash prize of £10,000 for their next fashion film, a tutorial session with Knight himself, cameras a trip to Australia to screen their work.
“I’ve wanted to do a fashion film award for a long time,” Knight said. “Fashion and movement is very important, when a designer creates a piece of clothing it’s always to be seen in movement and I think fashion film is the best way of doing that. I wanted to encourage new young fashion film-makers, to really help them to embrace this new medium and to create this new medium, it really has to be created.”
He will lead a panel of judges, which includes Nicola Formichetti, Gareth Pugh and Daphne Guinness. Entry to the Fashion Film Award is on SHOWstudio.com
