The young designer's collection was as sweet as it was sexy, mixing light prettiness with Araki-inspired ropes and knots.

Set against the stunning Lancaster house, Simone Rocha recreated an unforgettable trip to Japan that she took six months ago. Spring/summer 16 featured prints and colors inspired from vintage kimonos and bamboo forests. Rocha has well and truly surpassed the category of up-and-coming young designer to become a stand out not-to-be-missed show at London Fashion Week.

Showing on the eve of the opening of her first stand alone store, things are look pretty good for the Irish designer. Judging from what we witnessed, she is taking all this success in her stride. Pulling off another stunning collection that maintains all the favorite Simone Rocha trademarks of femininity and lightness with a romantic-gothic darkness.

The twist this season came from the Japanese artist and photographer Nobuyoshi Araki. Known for his fascination with Kinbaku-bi a form of bondage, Rocha incorporated the binding of ropes into her collection softening the concept using neoprene sponge. As always with Rocha there is more than meets the eye with her collection while remaining considered, intelligent yet playful.
