Sydney’s VIVID Festival will be brighter than ever this year, with Solange headlining the 2018 lineup. Over four days, Solange will sing her acclaimed R&B record A Seat at the Table in the round, giving audiences a 360 degree perspective of her show. Last year the artist was forced to cancel her tour due to illness, so the VIVID announcement marks an exciting return to the stage.

Earlier this month, the artist won the 2018 Harvard Foundation Artist of the Year award for her exploration of racial relations with A Seat at the Table.

VIVID Festival, which launched in 2009 headlined by Brian Eno, is a an annual light and installation festival that has long championed progressive thinking and creativity. VIVID LIVE Curator and Sydney Opera House Head of Contemporary Music Ben Marshall explains, “[Solange] is the perfect artist, in every sense of the word, to occupy centre-stage at Vivid LIVE, this year celebrating 10 years of ambitious and rigorous contemporary music taking over the Sydney Opera House.”

Solange’s VIVID performances will be her only shows in Australia this year, so we’re not breaking news to say they’ll sell fast. The full Vivid Live program will be announced in mid-March. Tickets and further information can be found here.
