    Sophia Wilson’s quarantine in photos

See the lockdown in New York City through photographer Sophia Wilson's eyes.

Photographer Sophia Wilson is currently on lockdown in New York City, spending her days between her apartment on the Lower East Side and her mom's house in the East Village. Like many artists in quarantine, she's getting used to being alone a majority of the time, instead of out and about on shoots, and figuring out how to push herself to be creative. It's been a journey.

"I'm just happy to be alive and healthy at the end of the day. That being said, this definitely has not been the easiest few weeks," Sophia says. "The limitations of quarantine have forced me to turn towards other mediums, so I've been inspired by a lot of paintings, drawings, sculptures and self-portraits recently. I also just started getting loads of direct sunlight in my apartment last month, so I've been very inspired to play with light and further incorporate that into my work."

While she's passing the time making new photographs in her sunny apartment, Sophia looks forward to the best time of year in the city — summer. "There are so many things I'm looking forward to after this ends," she says. "I can't wait to hug all my friends, go on adventures together and bask in the NYC summer sun. I definitely won't be taking any moments for granted after this."
