It’s that time of the week again. Time for the playlists jam packed full of new music — the good, the bad, the ugly. Luckily for you, there’s also the i-D BEST NEW MUSIC playlist, which, you know, filters out the bad stuff. This week, LA-based popstar and producer SOPHIE (successful collaborator of Charli XCX and rumoured collaborator of Riri) is back with wonky new single Faceshopping ahead of her 13 March show at London’s Heaven.
Proceedings open and close this week with very Air-inspired offerings from young Norwegian producer duo Atella’s new Beacon One EP; the first, a collaboration with warrior-weirdo Aurora, while the closer is a sparkling ode to Tokyo. German popstar Kim Petras got her V-Day on with Heart to Break, as did Rina Sawayama with anti-love day special, Valentine (What’s It Gonna Be). Elsewhere, Joji just released the deluxe edition of his album In Tongues, featuring remixes from Lapalux, salute and Actress. Our fave rework however, is the mellowed-out Will He by Ryan Hemsworth. He will, he did.
Rejjie Snow has been slowly sharing his album Dear Annie, bit by bit, for the past couple of months now. Today the whole thing is officially released, including a very lols new collaboration with Anna of the North called Charlie Brown. There’s also good stuff from Rolo Tomassi, Wiley, Jorja Smith and George the Poet, Not3s and NSG, Courtney Barnett, Gus Dapperton, Syd and Sampha, Ebenezer and so much more. Follow us, we’ll keep in the loop.
