This week it was announced that Harmony Korine‘s 2012 neon offering to the neon gods,Spring Breakers, is coming back. The original film, that followed a group of college girl’s hedonistic descent into Florida’s criminal underworld, will be remade as a digital TV series to stream exclusively on the appropriately named new platform Blackpills.

Sadly Harmony won’t be involved, but original producers Chris Hanley and Fernando Sulichin are on board. Between them, the men have worked on American Psycho, The Virgin Suicides, Buffalo ’66 and Snowden. Holzman said in a statement, “We want to engage new audiences by releasing Spring Breakers in an unconventional digital format beyond one typical for movies. ” Casting news hasn’t emerged, but it’s safe to say the insane cast of former Disney starlets probably aren’t returning.
