For the past two decades, Studio Voltaire has operated as a forward-thinking creative hub in London. Established with the altruistic intention of supporting excellent emerging and established artists, the studio is multi-faceted: it runs exhibitions, events, educational programs and reinvests profits into initiatives to benefit artists. With works by unknown talents sitting alongside Ryan McGinley photographs, fashion collaborations between designers like Roksanda & Eva Rothschild, Simone Rocha and Kim Gordon, and prints by Linder and Richard Nicoll as well as Peter Pilotto and Francis Upritchard, there is literally something for everyone. Prices ranging from $1 to $60,000 — the studio’s mission is to make collecting contemporary art accessible to a wider audience.
Now, for two weeks in July, Studio Voltaire will open a pop-up store in the iconic former Le Louvre townhouse on Collins street in Melbourne, where work by long-serving Studio Voltaire favourites will be on show with local artists and designers. Homegrown pieces include limited edition works from PAM, Lucy Folk, Tom Polo, Hany Armanious and David Noonan.
If you’re in Melbourne, check out the curated goods on offer at QIC Global Real Estate’s 80 Collins St from 14 to 24 July. Don’t worry if you can’t make it though, everything’s also available for the two weeks at farfetch.com
