Stüssy has been revealing some seriously big collaborations recently. If the Stüssy x Dior pieces weren’t enough — debuted in Miami back in December at Dior’s Pre-Fall 20 show — today the brand announce another creative union, this time with Comme Des Garçons. However, given it’s the iconic skate brand’s 40th anniversary, it’s no surprise they’re pulling out the big dogs for the occasion.
The King of California cool and the Queen of Japanese high fashion have come together to create a co-branded melton wool varsity jacket — the kind your high school self could only dream of. Suitably collegiate, the jacket celebrates Stüssy’s tenure with a 1980 – 2020 emboss on the front. The varsity jacket also features satin lining and a huge brand motif on the back. Replacing “Mathlete” and “Prom Committee ‘82” on the sleeves are instead patches depicting bucket hats, trackie bottoms, shirts and T-shirts — all in health goth hues of black, grey and white.
Quite the birthday pressie. The jacket is available today (15 January) at Stüssy and CDG brand stores, all Dover Street Market locations and online.
