This morning rapper SZA took to Twitter to share her alleged experience of being “roughed up” by a member of the Philadelphia police force. In the first tweet, which she has since removed, she simply said: “Just got roughed up by a Philly cop … Strange when it happens to u.” In a followup that is still live, the New Jersey native appears to be more dejected than angry:
Like why do we have to dehumanize each other to get a point across ? It’s so sad … I know for a fact people are better than this

The timing of the tweets suggests the altercation took place after she played the Budweiser Made In America festival over the weekend. An hour after her second tweet she changed direction by writing, “In other news this @chancetherapper set is filled w positivity and flawlessness.” SZA’s fans have responded with a massive outpouring of love and support, urging her to report the individual and praising her for her positivity fuelled set at the festival. At the time of writing, the Philadelphia Police Department haven’t released a statement.
