Taylor Swift and Kanye West appear to be beefing again over a questionable lyric on Yeezy’s new album. Kanye unveiled his long-awaited The Life of Pablo set last night at a fashion show live-streamed from New York’s Madison Square Garden. Though the music has been widely praised, eyebrows were raised by a couplet on the album’s fourth track “Famous.” “I feel like me and Taylor might have sex,” Kanye raps, “I made that bitch famous.” Taylor’s representative has since released a statement to Billboard confirming that the singer has not endorsed the track. “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous,'” the statement explains.
My attendance somewhere does not mean I agree with everything being said in the music playing there. My friends know of my loyalty.

Kanye has now to responded to Taylor’s statement about “Famous,” which arrives around six months after she confirmed the pair had cleared the air. In a series of 15 rapid-fire tweets posted earlier today, Yeezy insisted, ‘I did not diss Taylor Swift and I’ve never dissed her.” After confirming that wife Kim Kardashian had given the track her blessing, Kanye continued: “I called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings.” He also said the idea for the lyric came from Taylor herself, explaining: ” She was having dinner with one of our friends who’s name I will keep out of this and she told him I can’t be mad at Kanye because he made me famous!” He also sent out a more general message to those criticizing the track: “Stop trying to demonize real artist (sic) Stop trying to compromise art.” Taylor, it’s over to you.
