The shit has hit the fan in celebland and it’s spreading all over Twitter. Today Taylor Swift’s rep revealed that it was in fact she who penned ex BF Calvin Harris’ smash hit “This is What You Came For,” under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg. But why? Swift reportedly thought her involvement would overshadow the track, given that the pair were in an Instagram perfect relationship at the time. We all know what happened when the Scottish producer made a song with former GF Rita Ora: they broke up.
Turns out Swift and Harris broke up anyway (might have had something to do with Harris telling Ryan Seacrest that he “can’t see” himself making music with Taylor, while promoting the song that Taylor secretly wrote for him) and now the “Shake It Off” singer can be seen gallivanting around Europe with new squeeze Tom Hiddleston, and their personal pack of paparazzi.
But back to Calvin, who took to Twitter, first to confirm that Taylor “sings on a little bit of it too,” praising her as an “amazing lyric writer” and saying “she smashed it as usual,” but then expressing his disappointment with Taylor’s team’s big reveal. “I wrote the music, produced the song, arranged it and cut the vocals though. And initially she wanted it kept secret, hence the pseudonym… Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad… I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it.” No one puts Calvin in the corner, not even if Katy Perry’s there.
