    Honestly we cannot wait.

It was always just going to be a matter of time before the story of Anna Delvey, the shameless and ultimately, penniless fake socialite who scammed Manhattan, made its way to Netflix. With her carelessly curated wardrobe, unbelievable backstory and killer ending (spoiler alert: she ends up in Rikers Island serving time for fraud), the show practically writes itself.

So it makes sense that just a few weeks after The Cut writer Jessica Pressler graced the world with the incredible tale, it’s already been acquired by Netflix and Shondaland, the production company founded by Shonda Rhimes.

While it’s early days yet (the announcement was made over the weekend, so sadly no casting decisions to argue over on Twitter just yet), the acquisition of the Anna Delvey story is just one of several recent steps taken by Netflix to shine a light on more female led stories on their platform.

Fresh off the back of the astounding success of The End of the F***king World last year, Netflix is working with writer Charlie Covell on a new series described as “a darkly comedic and contemporary reimagining of Greek mythology, exploring themes of gender politics, power and life in the underworld.”

While, again, there’s no word on when the new show, KAOS, will reach Netflix, what we know so far is that it will take place in a 10 episode arc, written and directed by Charlie. And it all sounds very “Regina George hosts a Bacchanalia”, which, to be honest, we’re into.
