the best spring/summer 16 campaigns we’ve seen so far

As the New Year rolls in we say goodbye to the faces of yesteryear and welcome in those of 2016. From Louis Vuitton’s sci-fi dreamers to Givenchy’s new #family, here’s part one of the top spring/summer 16 campaigns as they happen.

    Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton really topped themselves this time with their sci-fi “Series 4” campaign, first revealing Final Fantasy heroine Lighting as their virtual star (watch out Fernanda, there’s a new pink-haired muse vying for Ghesquière’s attention!), and then introducing the gender-neutral-dressing Jaden Smith as their latest headline grabbing star. The campaign triptych’s artists are Juergen Teller, Bruce Weber and Japanese video game and manga creator, Square Enix.

    Givenchy
Spreading the love, Riccardo Tisci’s latest campaign, shot in New York by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, features generations old and new of the biggest names in the modelling industry. His message is “I BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF LOVE,” and the poem handwritten at the bottom of each image reads: “I am a child on the river and love waits downstream, A waterfall to steal my breath and Change MY Mind.”

    Versace
Featuring reincarnations of Donatella herself, Versace’s Steven Klein-shot campaign stars blonde bombshells Gigi Hadid, Raquel Zimmerman and Natasha Poly.

    Burberry
The newly buzz-cut Ruth Bell and twin sister May are reunited in Burberry’s spring/summer 16 campaign. They star alongside fellow Burberry first-timers Dylan Brosnan (son of Pierce), Eliza Fairbanks, Bella Yentob and Misha Hart among other new faces, in 40 shots by Mario Testino.

    Prada
As well as Prada regular Sasha Pivovarova, Miucca has two new muses – one from the old guard and one from the new… Believe it or not, Natalia Vodianova has never starred in a Prada campaign before but it’s never too late! And the new? 17-year-old Dutch beauty Yasmin Wijnaldum. She follows in the footsteps of Lineisy Montero, Willow Hand and Aya Jones, who also kicked off their careers with a Prada campaign. Remember her name!

    Gucci
The fashion world has fallen in love with Alessandro Michele’s new vision for Gucci and following on from the spring/summer 16 campaign film, shot by Glen Luchford in Florence, the campaign images (also shot by Luchford) show a similarly new romantic bunch (including hot new face Peyton Knight), exploring the beautiful setting of Berlin.

    Chanel
Lineisy Montero and previous i-D cover star Mica Arganarez – both Chanel first-timers – kill it in the spring/summer 16 campaign, shot by the brands Creative Director, Karl Lagerfeld.
