2014 in music looked something like this…

Amongst the Iggy and Azealia beef, elevator fights and Anaconda booty bouncing, there have been some serious game changing moments in music in this year, and by moments we mean songs. There are more records being released each day than ever before and i-D’s Best of 2014 Mixtape includes our favourites from the past twelve months. Delve into the most definitive tracks if the year.

Opening the mix mash of 2014’s finest we have one-to-watch for 2015 Nao with her so So Good track with A.K. Paul. We have the Grime anthem of the year with Skepta’s That’s Not Me, music from new kid on the block Loyle Carner, Little Simz, Goldlink, SZA, Stormzy, Sam Smith, SBTRKT, Flying Lotus, Raury and Ryan Hemsworth all making the cut. This playlist wouldn’t be complete without anthems from Jamie XX, Meridian Dan, Ten Walls, Darq E Freaker and Caribou and of course, D’angelo.

The end of year artwork comes courtesy of 21 year old graphic designer and digital artist Josh Millgate. Josh’s work focuses on the creation of digital artwork through the interaction between music, technology and the audience. With a keen and obsessive eye for detail he zones out, creating visually exciting psychedelic visuals usually inspired by vivid dreams or experiences. Follow his workings over on his Instagam.

Press play, discover and rediscover the sound of 2014.
