A runway with Black Scale‘s Will Pyett at the musical helm will never feature Innocuous house, in fact you’re more likely to see the models ‘walk it out’ to Rae Sremmurd, Travi$ Scott and a slew of crucial flips of Drake and RiRi. Pyett’s approach is to challenge the conventions of runway soundtracks, “People think that you need a straight up 4/4 120BPM type beat for the models to walk to but i find that can lead to a really generic runway show, where the music can be lost as the models tramp the catwalk. I find it way more interesting to mix up the tempos, genres and use pieces of music that will make the audiences ears prick up and to utilise some confronting stuff…it all makes for a much better show.”
