The President of France, François Hollande, opened the new Louis Vuitton Foundation building to the public yesterday, describing it as a “cathedral of light… a miracle of intelligence and creativity”. The building recently hosted Vuitton’s spring/summer 15 ready-to-wear show, and will now house LVMH’s collection of art and new installations. The Frank Gehry designed building was inspired by the glass domes of the Grand Palais and 19th Century conservatories, yet resembles sails flowing in the wind and the disorder of the nature.
