For most of this year, many of us have been obsessively tracking the progress of the Twin Peaksrevival season. From the casting to the music, we’ve absorbed every drip of information. But since filming was completed in August, hints have become a little more definite. And now we have a new minute and a half behind the scenes clip to obsess over.
In classic Twin Peaks style, even the teaser is a creepy impression of the Lynchian world: it opens with original cast members Kyle Maclachlan, Harry Goaz, Miguel Ferrer, and Kimmy Robertson referring to the rumors, happenings, and strange feelings that surrounded the early stages of production. Straight away it seems like they’re setting the scene for an alien abduction conspiracy theory rather than a Showtime promo clip.
We’re shown nondescript shots of the town and actors on set while little is revealed other than the fact the characters will go on a remarkable journey and will explore the entirety of the human experience. So far it seems pretty on-brand with the series’ previous two seasons. Maclachlan closes the video commenting, “There’s nothing I can say to describe this, but absolutely wonderful.” Perfect.
