It’s fair to say that earlier this year nobody could have predicted the cultural juggernaut that the return of Queer Eye would become. Years after the cancellation of the original Bravo series, Queer Eye For The Straight Guy, all the way back in 2007, the decade later revamp gave viewers everything they could have wanted. Memes! Marriage break ups! Marriage reunions! Okay, so maybe that doesn’t account for a “cultural juggernaut” as such, but people really bloody love it.
And it looks like we’re in for an even bigger, better show if the trailer for season two of Queer Eye is anything to go by. This time the fab five are back and are branching out — while the first series saw the gang mostly making over straight men, this season will see them taking on their first female and transgender male clients, as well as redoing a church community centre. Cue many many overwhelmed, happy tears.
“This season, the Queer Eye Fab Five return to the Georgia heartland,” promises the show synopsis. “Forging connections with communities from a wide array of backgrounds and beliefs often contrary to their own, touching on everything from self-love to faith, to immigration and how to make the perfect homemade poke bowl.”
