How did you start your career?
Just kicking about in the playground. I went to watch a friend play and they didn’t have enough players, I ended up scoring a hat-trick and got signed by AC Newbury.
What advice would you give young people wishing to follow in your footsteps?
Enjoy playing football, be prepared to make sacrifices and be determined to train every day.

My son Finley’s first birthday.
What excites you most about tomorrow?
Seeing my son develop and change every day.
Tell us one thing that no one knows about you?
I love a bit of karaoke.
What’s your party trick? I can make a card disappear.

Footballer, father, passionate, dedicated, kind-hearted.
How did you start your career?
At four, I joined a football team called Knebworth FC before joining Luton Town aged eight. At nine, Arsenal signed me.
What was your big break?
My senior debut vs Sheffield Utd in the Carling Cup.
What are you working on at the moment?
Becoming a permanent fixture in the Arsenal and England first team.
What advice would you give young people wishing to follow in your footsteps?
Work hard, stay dedicated, remain humble.

Arsenal winning the FA Cup 2014.

Relaxed, loyal, ambitious, funny, hardworking.
How did you start your career?
At my local kids football club. I signed for Southampton Academy at the age of 7 and was there for 12 years.
What was your big break?
Aged 16 playing for under 18’s, we had West Ham at home and I scored two and set one up.
What are you working on at the moment?
Playing better with my left foot!
This is the 35th Birthday Issue, when did you last celebrate and what was the occasion?
When we won 4-1 against Liverpool!
What excites you most about tomorrow?
Going to training and knowing I am doing something I love.
Tell us one thing that no one knows about you?
I was quite a good swimmer when I was younger – I won the under 10’s 50m freestyle!

You only get to see that at parties.
