Timothée Chalamet can’t stop wearing his fans’ gifts

Socks! Jewellery! Give him some clothes and he shall wear them in public.

Maybe when you were younger, you spent much of your time fantasising about what it would be like to be known by a pop star, or an actor, that you were a big fan of. Maybe you wrote them fan mail, sent them little gifts, wondering if they’d ever reach them or — better yet — respond.

Cynicism will teach us that all of those gifts and letters most likely sit under the desk of their agent or manager for a few weeks before they get binned, but that’s not Timothée Chalamet’s policy! Nope, for the past few years, his fans have been handing him everything from socks, to jewellery to T-shirts on the red carpet. He takes them all. And later, those same fans see them again in paparazzi shots or on the red carpet for other events.

It seems Timothée is the exception to the rule here: a modern day heartthrob who actually gives a shit about his fanbase and the things they give to him. In fact, it’s happened so many times that the Twitter account @sunflwrchalamet has managed to compile a thread of them all with the pictures to prove it!

Just this past weekend, Timmy took a photo with a fan in New York wearing a cap that another fan, all the way in South Korea, gave him late last year during Little Women’s promo run.

Then there was the time he rocked up to the BAFTAs in a Haider Ackermann suit with Cartier jewellery, and promptly swapped his expensive bracelet for a fan’s bead one.

This peace shirt also went viral, with fans begging its creator to make more for them to buy, after she gave it to Timmy at a Little Women Q&A and he wore it to a National Board of Review event a few days later. Stan-worthy behaviour.

A fan also gave him some cute Tortoise socks that he wore on a flight to Korea. At this rate, he’s probably wearing these instead of doing washing while on transatlantic press tours.

    This reaction? Same.

Essentially, what this thread shows is that his fans are very good to him and Timothée Chalamet is very good to them in return.

Now let’s hurry up with the release of The French Dispatch before our serotonin levels dip again.
