Everyone has a soft spot for Transparent, even the Kardashians — watching the show as a family helped them come to terms with Caitlyn’s transition. Creator Jill Soloway even hinted Cait might make an appearance (or get a mention) in season three. While we don’t catch Cait in this trailer, we can glean a lot about the series ahead.
As EW reports, this season will revolve around the theme of “coming out of your shell.” For Pfefferman matriarch Shelly, that means getting on social media; for Josh, it’s all about trying to form a relationship with his son. The trailer also sees Sarah exploring her sex life, and Ali’s relationship with Leslie growing. As for Maura, the season ahead will see her go through some major changes while reflecting on her past, too. According to EW, “there will be flashbacks to Maura in 1958, exploring what it means to be a 12-year-old in the wrong body.” In the present day, Maura will explore gender confirmation surgery.
Plus, the series has already been renewed for a fourth season, so there’s going to be plenty more Transparent to come. Season three debuts September 23.
