In good news for fans of the Pfefferman family, Transparent has been greenlit by Amazon for a fourth series before its third has even hit our screens. Creator Jill Soloway tells Deadline, “This news of an order for season four is so so sweet. The Pfeffermans have many more stories to tell and we can’t wait to keep making them.”
For those that haven’t seen it, Transparent follows the Pfeffermans, a wealthy LA dynasty, as their patriarch transitions into her true self, Maura. Whilst this sounds a little worthy, it is in fact hilarious, rude and irreverent, as Maura’s revelation (drastically) unspools the family of fuck ups’ secrets. Season 2 went deeper, exploring Maura’s ancestors’ escape from the Nazis, starring Hari Nef as her Weimar era aunt. Key to the show’s success comes from the diverse production team behind it, which includes trans artist and actress Zackary Drucker as consultant and producer. The multiple Golden Globe and Emmy award winning series returns this autumn.
