Tyler, the Creator’s out here making the start of a new week that little bit easier, sharing a fresh acoustic version of his surprise hit See You Again. In a clip posted to Twitter, Tyler and Kali Uchis strip the track back to its bare bones (the rapper gives an especially impressive performance on the keys). It was recorded the same evening the pair stepped onto The Tonight Show stage to perform the song live.
See You Again, which Tyler originally wrote for ZAYN, is his first song to earn mainstream radio rotation in the US. Last week, he heard it on the radio for the very first time and someone managed to capture the moment of on video — you’d be hard pressed not to feel a bit of Tyler’s infectious joy. Later that day the artist tweeted, “I just heard ‘see u again’ on the radio and started crying tears of joy omg.” He continued, “my whole career ive never got radio play cause i was ‘too weird’ this is a moment wow…made it on there and kept it ‘weird’ too.” He couldn’t be more deserving.
