Last night, the brightest in the UK’s music biz rolled into London for the UK Music Video Awards, a ritzy celebration of all the very best performers, producers, directors, stylists and more that work on the visual spectacles behind the year’s biggest tracks. With artists like FKA twigs, Little Simz, Adele and Arlo Parks nominated this year, we all knew that it was set to be a momentous soirée before we’d even taken our seats.
The big winner of the night this year, though, was Pharrell, who took home four gongs for “Cash In Cash Out”, including the prestigious Video Of The Year. Other artists who also won awards include Harry Styles, Rosalía, Michael Kiwanuka, Doechii, Sam Fender, and black midi, while Ukrainian director Tanu Muino won the Best Director category for the second year running.
The category we were most excited about, though, was Best Wardrobe Styling — a category we’ve proudly played a part in judging for eight years running. This year, the winning video was Lil Simz and Obongjayar, “Point and Kill”. Here’s raising a glass to them, stylist Temitope Uduak Betiku and the whole team that worked on a veritable work of art!
