Since it launched in the US at the end of last year, VICELAND has provided some of the most evocative moments ever seen on television. From Ellen Page’s exploration of global queer culture in GAYCATION to STATES OF UNDRESS’ look at the serious dilemmas underpinning the fashion industry, it always leaves us with something to think about. Now it’s about to become a whole lot easier to keep up with our favourite shows, as VICELAND is coming to Australia. And it’s going to be free.
VICE have partnered with SBS, replacing the current channel SBS2, to form the new offering SBS VICELAND. From November 15 (at 4PM to be exact) they will begin broadcasting 24 hours a day.
To make sure that the local offering carries a distinctly Australian flavour, they’re inviting members of the public to call in on a special phone line to tell producers directly what they do and don’t want from the channel. Give them a buzz on 1800-321-511, leave a message and let them know how you’re feeling — who knows, maybe you’ll get discovered.
