Holy Balm are a smart, quirky, ‘mutant, free-form house’ trio from Sydney whose anticipated second album, Activity is due for release on Chapter Music in early August. The first single from the album, Fashion, is a funny and insightful electro-pop song guaranteed to remind you of some of your more questionable sartorial stages while simultaneously getting you to the dance floor.
The new video for Fashion is a visual treat that traverses every vintage store fad embraced over the last couple of decades. In the clip, band members Emma Ramsay, Jonathan Hochman, Anna John don it all: platforms, giant plastic earrings, clashing prints, matching plaids, ruffles, latex, glomesh, stonewash, earthy colours, batwings, taffeta, parachute tracksuits, logos, 80s suits, animal prints and berets. Topped off with a glorious cameo by Marcus Whale, who plays saxophone on the track, press play for a stylised glimpse of your wardrobe’s history.
