Having impressed the internet – Solange Knowles’ Saint Heron blog included – with her stripped-back take on Britney’s Baby One More Time, MIYNT brought the dark pop with debut single, Civil War. Clearly on a roll, here’s the B-side. Follow the young artist through the ferns as she frolics in forests, plays table football, and seeks musical guidance from one of the greats. The track’s addictive hooks, and MIYNT’s lovely looks, make the hide and seek VHS throwback feel a bit like a Jacquemus flim. “The song is kind of a restless story,” she explains. “I was listening to a lot of Nick Drake the summer that I made it. For the video, me and my friend Jakob were trying to catch that restless feeling.” With this on repeat and WWNDD as her mantra, we can’t wait to hear what MIYNT does next.
