Released last year via Record Record and Skrillex’s OWSLA imprint, Point Point’s self proclaimed future bass breakout banger, “Life In Grey,” has racked up almost 3 million plays on SoundCloud. An online evergreen, the track still sounds as fresh as it did almost a year ago — even in the fast-paced, music-churning world that we’re in.
In an era of perfection where people are continuously pressured to create something impeccable — something that is worthy of approval through the perception of another, something worthy of as many ‘likes’ as possible — the French production trio have teamed up with video director Jodeb to craft something that serves as a startling narrative of a Y generation pushed to the extreme.
“The song and title inspired me to create a narrative about the Y generation, about how people can become desperate about creating the perfect piece of work, the ultimate fulfillment in the eyes of others.” Jodeb explains. “The obsession of a promised, expected, fulfilling life. I just wanted to create a character who would push it to the ultimate limit, death as a performance.” Press play on this exclusive i-D premiere.
