The supremely talented Isaac Holman and Laurie Vincent are Slaves. Having relocated from Kent to London, the punk duo brought with them a refreshing sound and much-needed change to the often stagnant music world. Quite rightly selected for the BBC’s Sound of 2015 list, the band recently played Later With Jools Holland and put U2 very much in their iTunes-spamming place.
Carried by the best riff we’ve heard all year, The Hunter is given a visual injection of killer angles and harsh strobing colours as they literally smash things up. Directed by Youth Hymns, we can’t get enough of their trippy dreamworld-turned-nightmare. There’s something very Fear and Loathing about it, and we swear it’s not just the glasses. It’s reckless and pointless but it’s also very fun, so turn your brightness and volume all the way up for an exclusive look at their new video and prepare to discover your new favourite band.
Be sure to catch their brilliantly intense live show in February when they tour the UK with the likes of Fat White Family and Amazing Snakeheads as part of the always quality NME tour. The Hunter is out 12th January via Virgin EMI and available here.
