Virgil Abloh never seems to stop. Last week the Off-White designer casually confirmed a long-rumoured sneaker collaboration with Nike in the middle of a lecture on creativity that he was giving to architecture students at Columbia University. Now he’s worked on a limited edition t-shirt for Nike and is staring in a short video for the brand which loudly promotes equality.
The t-shirt features a multi-flag design, with countries layered one over the other, as a colourful symbol of unity. The soaring black and white video, which also features Serena Williams and Alicia Keys, shows the boundaries of a basketball court being widened throughout the city with a voice over expressing sentiments such as, “Equality has no boundaries” and “Worth should outshine colour”.
In a statement Nike explained: “Nike has always stood for equality for all and against discrimination in any form. The T-shirts pay tribute to the principle of equality, and builds on our long-time commitment of supporting the voices of those that are not always heard.”
According to an Off-White Instagram post the t-shirts will be available at House of Hoops in New Orleans.
