The first clip has been revealed from Jim Jarmusch’s Gimme Danger, the upcoming Iggy and the Stooges documentary. Capturing Iggy’s legendary, electric stage presence, the clip features him writhing and contorting his ubiquitously topless body, before launching into the crowd. Members of the Stooges explain that sometimes, they would have to keep playing a song intro on and on while Iggy lost himself in long crowd surfing sessions.
The clip also shows footage of an infamous incident at the 1970 Cincinnati Pop Festival, when Iggy jumped into the crowd with a huge tub of peanut butter, smearing it on his bare chest before flinging it liberally into the audience. Watch the clip over at Rolling Stone.
Gimme Danger is out November 18, followed by the book ‘Total Chaos: The Story of The Stooges by Iggy Pop’ scheduled to arrive later in the year.
