Grimes kicked off her Rhinestone Cowgirls tour with a performance at The Growlers’ fourth annual Beach Goth festival in California this weekend, giving fans a first-listen preview of tracks from her much-anticipated, about-to-drop album, Art Angels.
Several new tracks were captured in a fan video from the gig, including one that many are identifying in the YouTube comments as the aptly-titled Scream, in which Grimes screams over a heavy bassline, and another that may be the as-yet unreleased track Ya Vas Luubil.
Grimes also posted (and then deleted) a video clip on her Instagram at the weekend, captioned “Rehearsal,” that was said to show the influence of industrial music generally (and Nine Inch Nails specifically) on her new music.
