Listen up horror nerds. The new trailer for the second season of the Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg-led The Twilight Zone reboot has just dropped, and if this is anything to go by it’s shaping up to be another killer (pun intended) television moment.
The anthology, which debuted in 2019, is Peele’s latest foray into the land of the chilling, following on from his critically acclaimed genre-defining blockbuster horror movies, 2017’s Get Out and 2019’s Us. The series is going from strength to strength, offering a fresh, creepy and socially conscious take on Rod Serling’s 1959 cult Americana horror.
The trailer is a menacingly soundtracked series of the kind of vignettes one would expect from the twist-filled sci-fi, supernatural, horror: two young women light candles at an apparent seance (what could go wrong?), a character stands confused in the middle of the street as everyone freezes in time around her for ‘World Maintenance’, sinister doors are inspected (nothing lurks behind we’re sure), a little girl stands alone in a barren forest holding nothing but a plastic doll.
While the first season of the reboot aired episodes weekly, in a truly binge-worthy move all episodes of season two will drop together when it’s released on CBS All Access. Dropping 25 June, the ensemble cast features everyone from Pose breakout star Billy Porter to pop’s eternally-on-hiatus prodigal daughter, Sky Ferreira.
